Biome Photography was founded due to a deep love of wildlife. Having been lucky enough to travel the world and spend a substantial amount of time in Africa and underwater, I was deeply moved by the natural world that I got to witness on a daily basis.

 

I was lucky enough to have a number of whirlwind experiences, from being approached, eye-to-eye, by a magnificent super tusker, to having a wild mountain gorilla join me for a meal; these experiences changed my life irrevocably.

 

My elation turned to doubt as I also witnessed some horrifying experiences - seeing first hand, the impact of things such as drought and poaching due to human-wildlife conflict on these animals that I inherently loved, so deeply.

 

I felt a deep drive to do something to protect this beautiful, but fragile world that I got to experience, and thus Biome Photography was born.

 

Primarily, this business was founded to generate money for charity.
